The green faculty's glass skin

Institute at Leibniz University, Hannover

1,200 m² of weather-resistant glass on lightweight concrete panels characterise the striking appearance of the new Institute for Molecular Plant Sciences at Leibniz University in Hanover since 2012. The glass skin of this building is a AIRTEC Glass ventilated curtain wall façade that incorporates variations of green found in the ubiquitous greenhouses of what is known as the "green faculty", thereby creating an architectural identity for staff and students and making a statement that is visible for miles around.
